Uwe Weiss at German Mechanical Engineering Summit

WEISS GmbH CEO Uwe Weiss spoke with Claus Wilk, chief editor at mi-connect, about what digitization means for SMEs at the 14th German Mechanical Engineering Summit in Berlin.

His core message was that digitization often means leaving your comfort zone. He encouraged the audience to get things started and accept failures as lessons learned rather than giving up pushing forward. The feedback from the audience was very positive throughout.

Organized by the German Engineering Association (VDMA) the Mechanical Engineering Summit is a meeting place for the who’s who of the German machine building and plant engineering industry. For two days, industry leaders and decision-makers use keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops to exchange ideas, share their experiences, network and present awards. The summit is also a place to meet high-profile politicians and scientists who contribute their expertise. This year, Robert Habeck, Federal Minister of Economics and Climate Protection, and Federal Minister of Finance Christian Lindner attended the sold out congress with 900 participants.
