The applications for WEISS DR Delta Robots range from the packaging industry and medical technology to the electrical industry and battery production. Robot solutions from WEISS demonstrate their strengths particularly in applications that require a high degree of dynamics, repeat accuracy and a high load. They are extremely flexible, featuring up to three translational and optionally two rotational degrees of freedom. The robots cover a large workspace with two to five axes. Depending on the variant and configuration, the diameter of the workspace ranges from 200 to 2,000 millimeters.

The motors of a Delta Robot are installed in the robot base. High speeds and dynamics can be reached because the arms remain free of this additional weight, which makes them very light. Loads of 0.5 to 50 kilograms are no problem for the powerful devices from WEISS. The paired needle bearings and the rigid design ensure a high repeat accuracy of between 0.01 and 0.05 millimeters.

To fully reap the potential of the DR Series, WEISS only supplies its Delta Robots in combination with the preconfigured W.A.S. ROBOTIC Control Package. This makes commissioning and adaptation to the particular handling process easier. WEISS has intentionally eliminated the need for a teaching panel in the DR Series. The control system can be operated from any common web browser on a PC or laptop. Its user interface is transparent and very easy to understand. It provides for all common field bus interfaces such as PROFINET, EtherCAT and EtherNet IP. The Control Package is made up of single components that the customer can integrate into its higher-level equipment control system and control environ-ment. Consequently, the robot controller from WEISS does not require its own control cabinet, which saves space in the production environment.
