Positioning during Battery Module Assembly
Task
Positioning of battery packs for connecting battery notching for hard case or pouch cells
Solution
- Positioning: A positioning system, driven by a vertical heavy-duty table TH400, rotates battery packs, which have to be welded on two sides, to different positions: loading/unloading, welding position (welding process 1), 180 degree rotation, welding position (welding process 2), loading/unloading
- H-turn design: On a heavy duty table CR, two opposite positioning systems are mounted with a vertical heavy duty table TH. This allows the welding process to be carried out on one while the other positioning system is loaded and unloaded.
Benefits
- Fast positioning of heavy loads
- Reduced waiting time through H-turn design
- Positioning with heavy-duty tables more cost-effective than 6-axis robot solutions
- Reliability, high dynamics and repeatability of WEISS heavy-duty tables CR and TH
