Automation in the Micrometer Range

Automated evaluations of samples with the use of high-performance cameras are becoming increasingly important in medical technology. Laser-scanning microscopy and electron microscopy are examples of processes that no longer record just one image, but divide an entire surface into sections and scan them. The high resolutions associated with these processes pose special challenges for the automation technology that is involved. In most cases, XY tables that ensure an extremely high running accuracy are required. The whole setup is often supplemented by a Z axis for the focusing process. The WEISS product range features high-precision XY tables, such as the MK cross table and loading/unloading systems, as well as customized solutions based on high-precision linear motor drives with high-resolution encoders and weight compensation.
