Production space is expensive, and long transport routes are inefficient – these aspects make crowding a common problem in assembly plants. The WEISS product portfolio offers solutions to this with compact components that are easy to integrate. At automatica‘s Booth 324 in Hall A5, the family-run company will be showing how to create functional subsystems with its linear transfer systems, delta robots, pick & place units, and linear axes. WEISS will be using an example assembly process to demonstrate at this trade show in Munich how the well-planned combination and integration of its components enables modern, future-oriented production. Not only can the components be combined with one other, they can easily be integrated into the overall assembly system. Once integrated, they enable workpiece transport to various workspaces via rotational or linear path. WEISS software and control solutions are indeed designed specifically to support simple integration, start-up, and operation.

Robot solutions
With a repeat accuracy range of 0.01–0.05 millimeters and impressive speed characteristics, the delta robots from WEISS are perfectly designed for high-speed applications. At a nominal load of 0.5–50 kilograms, packaging tasks can be implemented in a wide range of sectors. The applications for WEISS DR delta robots range from the packaging industry and medical technology to the electrical industry and battery production. They solve tasks in which load, dynamics, and repeat accuracy are critical.

In addition to a comprehensive portfolio of delta robots, the WEISS portfolio includes solutions for workpiece transport and workpiece positioning. These positioning systems build on the technology of the company’s proven rotary indexing tables. They are an ideal supplement to robot welding or the automated placement, connection, and assembly of battery modules. WEISS uses the dynamics and precision of its standardized systems in these areas of application. This is how the body-in-white experts in the automotive industry or in battery assembly, for instance, have created reliable and robust solutions.

Software and simulation models
WEISS is continuously expanding its portfolio of software, control, and simulation solutions. Compatibility within the product portfolio is a major focus of expansion. WEISS software engineers are also guided by the principle of easy integration into the higher-level system controls, and in turn, the overall system. Whether control packages, simulation models, or 3D, 4D, or EPLAN data, digital services continuously simplify system engineering, project planning, start-up, and optimization.
